Kemenys Price : $32.99
RRP : $49.00
Kemenys Rating : 94/100
Value :
Awards

Tasting Note :

"Packed with exotic spices and fresh blackberries, cherries and stewed plums, this is a serious and ever so \slightly demonic Shiraz; with great length, very tight acidity and fine tannins. you really need a few years to see this wine at its best, but there is more than enough intrigue already, so we don't mind you taking a quick peak- as long as the rest of the bottles are hidden away to age gracefully."

[Matthew Jukes Tyson Stelzer, Taste Food and Wine 2008, 09/02/2008]

Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra 2005

Tasting Note :
Youthful and lively, the wine shows dark fruits and menthol flavours with an excellent, rich mid-palate. Tingling acidity coupled with stylish oak and prominent tannins offers grip, tightness and definition. While this wine needs time, it is certainly appealing and of interest in youth.

Kemenys Price : $68.00
RRP : $90.00
Kemenys Rating : 96/100

Tasting Note :

"St Henri was first released commercially in 1956. What sets it aside from the other top-shelf Penfolds reds is that it is made without the use of any new oak. This is a real belter, matured in old vats, with layers of sweet black berry and black currant fruit, plum pudding and prune flavours on the palate and silky tannins."

Tasting Note :

The 2006 Petaluma Shiraz is a dark, brooding, vibrant wine. The aroma is spicy with loads of dark, ripe fruit. Blackberry and dark cherry aromas and flavours are complemented by the spice and a hint of anise. The trace of apricots from the Viognier perfectly balances with these dark fruits. The palate is very full flavoured and is enhanced by lovely cinnamon oak. Sweet fruit on the mid palate is supported by wonderful tannins, and the finish is very long and savoury. The 2006 Petaluma Shiraz from the B&V Vineyard is a sumptuous red wine that will reward many years careful cellaring.

Sandalford Margaret River Shiraz 2006

Kemenys Price : $14.99
RRP : $20.50
Kemenys Rating :
Value :

Tasting Note :

The bouquet is classic of a Margaret River shiraz with some perfumed floral notes in addition to the aromatic spices of anise, clove and bergamot. This is a medium bodied shiraz which while certainly being a fruit driven wine does have added complexity and character from barrel fermentation and maturation. Sweet blackberry fruit and the aforementioned spices all come together to make a fine red wine with opulence and balance. The harmony extends to the long finish.
