A dense yet supple wine harmonious wine palate. Lovely plush tannins, rounded texture with bright plummy, cherry fruit flavours and a clean finish with hallmark spicy lingering flavours that reflects the cool vintage. Will improve considerably over the next six to twelve months and will reward patience for at least 10 years.

"The 2007 vintage was one of heartbreak for my growers. Incredibly small crops due to the prolonged drought of 2006/07 were further reduced by a large rain event in the middle of January, which split and shrivilled the fruit. The end result was yields in the shiraz down by up to 90% on the previous vintage. The upside of these events is that the tiny amount of fruit left on the vine were incredibly intense in their flavours, and the resultant wine is simply outstanding. There is not much of this wine available, so drink it up whilst you can - it's a classic."

A vibrant nose with lifted red fruits of cherry and raspberry, with underlying spices and chocolate. The delicious red fruits of the nose continue onto the palate, combining with hints of milk chocolate and spice notes. It offers a fruit-driven juicy front palate followed by an even, textual experience with smooth and supple tannins. This generous wine displays why it has established itself as a benchmark Barossa shiraz.

This Heathcote Shiraz displays a pungent concentrated fruit aroma typical of this region. Majestic red berry and plum fruits are complimented by strong spice, moist earth and understated oak. The palate is concentrated, dense and round, typical Shiraz fruit flavours carried by long fine dry tannins coated in ripe fruit.

Brooding nose of blackberries, cocoa, vanilla and a hint of white pepper. Succulent, rich plush viscosity with dark cherry and plum flavours and a leathery dry finish.

 

 

Deep crimson red with purple hues. Aromas of licorice, plum and dark berry fruit. Juicy plum and blackberries with hints of cinnamon on the front palate. The Barossa's international reputation for concentrated, powerful Shiraz is borne out in this wine. Dense, vibrant colour is a feature of this brooding beauty, along with very ripe, sweet fruit, reminiscent of plum, blackberry and pepper on the nose.2 years in small American oak barrels has enhanced and complemented the wine. As a result the palate is generous, ripe and mouth filling. Soft tannins lead to a long, fine finish.

The Aberfeldy vineyard is a unique site - the Birks family of Wendouree fame planted this site in 1904. Many of these vines remain and the fruit from these gnarled old vines form the backbone of this superb wine. The wine has a vibrant magenta colour with aromatics of cherry, plum, dark berries and chocolate all complimented by tight grained American oak characters of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. The palate has persistent sweet fruit and a subtle oak aftertaste with power and great finesse and will reward patient cellaring.

The colour is a delicious deep thick purple. The nose has glorious dark heady notes of licorice and black fruits. The palate is warm and smooth with lifted spicy and floral notes after decanting. The length is long and soft with remarkable balance.

The 2007 Old Winery Shiraz is deep in colour with a bright purple rim. The nose displays aromas of ripe plums, chocolate and vanilla essence. Sweet shiraz fruit and spicy white pepper are evident on the palate which is supported by firm tannins, along with good length and complexity.

The wine appears medium bodied with soft, vibrant purple hues. The nose screams of the wines terroir with the typical white pepper and spice aromas that are characteristic of this region. The palate shows great length of fruit with a great acid structure and minimal oak intervention. A very well balanced wine that should age well in the medium term.
