Tasting Note :

Nose is generous, with plums, blueberry and cola. The oak shows
quite spicy with a bit of mocha and chocolate on the back palate.
Full bodied and powerful, blackberries and cassis. Structure is
plump with a good length of aftertaste. Oak is still dominant as a
young wine, but this will settle down with time and fruit will prevail.

The Reiver is sumptuous and rich with unmistakably velvety Barossa tannins and intense deep plummy fruit flavours."Reiver" is deceptively close to the French verb "to dream" and for many this is the epitome of a dream shiraz. Absolutely delicious."

“The 2005 shiraz Reiver, made from 60 year old shiraz vines, was 16 months in lightly toasted French oak. Its inky/blue/purple hue is followed by a lovely perfume of flowers, blackberries, espresso, and liquorice, aged completely in 300 litre hogsheads, it offers stunning richness and length, and should drink well for 10-12 years.”
