This wine exhibits qualities typical of quality semillon from a warm vintage: pronounced green apple and lime zest, with developing secondary characters of toast and crushed herbs. The fruit sourced for Tyrrells Stevens semillon comes from the 'Glen
Oak' vineyard which has a history of growing Hunter semillon dating back to 1910. The 2003 vintage was severely reduced by drought and as a result this semillon is a lean, floral scented wine with a crisp acid backbone that opens up with time in the glass. Whilst a few more years will see it start to really develop, you can enjoy it now or put it away for another day.
