Dark ruby with crimson hue, this cabernet merlot exhibits aromas of cassis, mint and blackberry, with a hint of cedar. Fruit-driven and complex on the palate, raspberry, blackberry and leafy notes are complemented by soft tannins and subtle savoury characters. A combination of careful fruit-handling and extended French oak maturation has resulted in a stylish varietal wine for drinking now and over the next five years.
This 2005 Heathcote Tempranillo displays classic varietal flavour definition with strawberry, leather and cinnamon to the fore. Impressive fruit-sweetness is complemented by extended French oak maturation on the rich, well-balanced palate which exhibits a smooth, seductive tannin structure.

2005 was an outstanding vintage for the entire Orange region - with merlot the star of the year. This wine is led by merlot but backed up by shiraz and cabernet sauvignon all coming together to give full and ripe aromatics of chocolate, blood plums, vanilla and nutmeg. The palate is plush and layered with a framework of balanced tannins.
