Chile’s wine growing regions have a remarkable balance of climate and soil that together create an ideal environment for producing top quality wine. Way back in 1875 Don Luis Pereira founded the Santa Carolina winery in the fertile Maipo Valley with vine cuttings taken from Bordeaux.

This chardonnay is from the Casablanca Valley, Chile. It is bright yellow in colour with an intense combination of tropical fruit aromas, especially pineapple and bananas. The fruit lingers on the fresh, well-balanced palate, along with soft tones of vanilla and toffee. This is a medium-bodied, intense, rich and complex chardonnay.

Tasting Note :
This wine comes from the Maipo Valley, known as the birthplace of Chile’s most important cabernets. The palate is silky with friendly, ripe tannins and a pleasant consistency. Its time in French oak barrels lends the wine just the right complexity to be enjoyed as a young, but consistent wine. It ends with a pleasant, persistent finish.

Vina Casablanca, one of the pioneering Chilean producers is known for  its vivid, consistently fruity red wines. This merlot is a lustrous  purple colour, it's elegant,primary red fruits fusing perfectly  with the vanilla and chocolate overtones, imparted by its ageing for   8 months in French and American barriques.

This wine has an intense and brilliant yellow colour. It has fruity aromas of melon and tropical fruits. On the palate, this fresh and well-balanced wine features ripe tropical fruit and plenty of pears, spice and ripe apricot flavours with a soft, mild butterscotch texture.

This cabernet is renowned for its intense ruby appearance. Its aromas are reminiscent of raspberries and blueberries, complemented with notes of chocolate, sweet spices and vanilla. The 2004 is a bright and intense red-purple in its appearance. With firm tannins, the bottle ageing ensures a velvety texture, which softens the tannins and integrates them with the fruit and oak flavours and ultimately results in a complex wine with a long finish. The use of some syrah gives the wine added structure, with considerable sweetness, while the petit verdot brings structure, black fruit and violet flavours to the wine.

With its elegant style this wine stands out immediately with its intense, bright yellow appearance. Tropical aromas such as pineapple mix elegantly with citrus notes of quince, as well as cinnamon and honey. On the palate the crisp and clean acidity stands out and is in balance with the full body and fruit flavours, and barrel fermentation adds notes of toffee and caramel. It’s a flavoursome wine with a long, lingering finish.

The 2005 Varietal syrah is bright and intense in its appearance with ruby red and purple colours. It emits aromas of black fruits like ripe blackberries and blueberries, combined with toasty notes from the oak-ageing. A very affordable Chilean merlot that delivers on the palate.  It is  bright cherry in colour with blackberry fruit aromas.  The palate ismid-weight in depth and well supported by soft tannins and plummy fruit characters.  Not overly complex but you can't expect that given the price.

The 2004 carmenere has a bright and intense ruby red colour. Its aromas are full of character, particular ripe black fruits, spices like pepper and accompanied by more subtle notes of vanilla and cinnamon from the oak. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, full of character with ripe and soft tannins and a long, lingering finish.
