Cape Mentelle Marg/River Chardonnay 2007

Kemenys Price : $32.00
Kemenys Rating : 95/100
Value :
Awards :

Tasting Note :

"Subtle at first then slowly revealing its creaminess between almond milk and butter milk, this wine oozes class with its pure chardonnay qualities, powerful fruit flavours balanced by well-cast acidity and textures, giving a genuine "wow" factor. As good as it gets, one dead-keen judge and chardonnay fan remarked."

Capel Vale Pemberton Chardonnay 2008

Kemenys Price : $19.00
Kemenys Rating : 94/100
Value :

Tasting Note :

When a meal calls for a chardonnay, this is the one to get. Peaches, pears, a tiny squeeze of lemon, with a little butterscotch for good measure. The oak sits nicely in the background. Classy and flavoursome. Suits full flavoured white meat dishes.

Climbing Orange Vineyard Chardonnay 2007

Kemenys Price : $16.99
Kemenys Rating : 89/100
Value :

Tasting Note :

Winemaker Debbie Lauritz describes this wine as "a beautiful rich golden hue, resulting from the low yielding '07 vintage. It is full bodied, showing lovely bright, citrus notes. it shows secondary flavour complexity from 6 months on yeast lees and a portion of the wine in oak ferment. It has great intensity of fruit flavour on the palate, as well as good length and a soft creamy finish and subtlety from the time in oak."

Darenberg Olive Grove Chardonnay 2007

Kemenys Price : $14.99
Kemenys Rating : 90/100
Value :

Tasting Note :

A brilliant straw colour and a clear hue. The aromas are fresh, tight and light with notes of melted butter, white peach and nectarines. The palate is soft and very refreshing though its weight is quite deceptive. The level of fine acidity suggested by the noticeable mineral notes really suppresses the level of ripeness, but also suggests the wine needs time to develop.

Devils Ridge Block 8 Chardonnay 2008

Kemenys Price : $14.00
Kemenys Rating : 92/100
Value :

Tasting Note :

Where do you start, there's so much to see in this modern-style Margaret River chardonnay. Here we go then - peaches, apricots, grilled nuts, creaminess, citrus and honeydew melon. Spicy lemony oak and fine acid lead to a long clean zippy finish. Would be magic with oysters or other delicate seafood.

De Bortoli Gulf Station Chardonnay 2008

Kemenys Price : $14.00
Kemenys Rating : 89/100
Value :

Tasting Note :

Light straw with slight green edges. The nose shows hazelnuts, some mineral notes and undertones of citrus. Tight, lean complex citrus fruit with barrel complexity and nutty undertones. Long flavoured palate with excellent balance. The wine will continue to develop with careful cellaring for up to 5 years.

De Bortoli Yarra Estate Grown Chardonnay 2007

Kemenys Price : $23.99
Kemenys Rating : 93/100
Value :

Tasting Note :

"Highly textural wine. Elegant and long. This is why the wine world has fallen in love with De Borts over the past five years. Crisp grapefruit and lemons but with lots of savoury, charry, creamy mouthfeel. Just gorgeous."

Kemenys Price : $14.00
Kemenys Rating : 94/100

Pale gold with youthful green hues. Fresh grapefruit and citrus blossom aromas, with barrel derived spices adding complexity. A selection of new and seasoned French oak, lees stirring and malolactic fermentation has added texture and weight finishing with roasted cashew and lemon butter. There are typical characters of Margaret River with flavours and aromas of lemons and lime with a refreshing and mouth watering acidity on the finish. With careful bottle ageing this wine will develop further texture and weight with underlying aromas and flavours of preserved lemon and pear aromas.
